A Journey Toward Wholeness

As an Integrative Somatic Therapist and Therapeutic Coach, I offer a compassionate space where body, mind, and awareness reconnect.

If you long for inner peace, freedom from the weight of past experiences, or a reset from deeply conditioned patterns, I can help you return home to the quiet joy already living in your body.

My work supports clients in releasing traumatic imprints and restoring their natural state of ease, vitality, and connection—so life can be lived with greater presence, curiosity, and choice.

Through hands-on healing, somatic re-education, and mindfulness-based practices, I guide clients in retraining the nervous system, softening protective defenses, and transforming outdated survival strategies into embodied wholeness.

Transformation begins with presence. When the body feels safe enough to open, healing unfolds naturally.

What Is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy works with implicit memory — the body’s quiet archive of everything you’ve lived.

Through breath, sensation, touch, and micro-movement, we release what talk alone can’t touch.
As your nervous system settles, your cells literally shift gears.
Receptors unclench.
Patterns soften.
New pathways open.

Healing isn’t only emotional.
It’s your biology remembering how to trust itself again.

Embodied Awakening is the process of waking up inside your body-mind — not above it, not numb to it, not away from it, but through it.

Embodiment is open presence — where you actually live from the full expression of your lifeforce energy and inner guidance system.
It’s the agency to build what you dream, and the capacity to meet the hard stuff with curiosity, patience, creativity, and grit.

As old patterns soften and your nervous system stabilizes, clarity and intuition emerge naturally.
Awakening becomes a lived, grounded experience — not an abstract idea, but a way of being fully alive in your body, your relationships, and your life.

The Happiness Grid describes five capacities that grow as the nervous system heals: relief, fulfillment, insight, mastery, and connection.

Somatic therapy develops all five naturally. As tension dissolves and clarity grows, you begin not just to survive — but to thrive.

Nurture to heal. Embody to evolve.

Colleen Godfrey offers integrative somatic therapy and embodied healing that supports nervous system regulation, trauma integration, and awakened presence. Her work weaves together somatic therapy, craniosacral therapy, NeuroAffective Touch®, Internal Family Systems and parts work, body–mind coaching, breathwork, and mindfulness practice—bridging science and spirit to help clients reconnect with the body’s innate capacity to heal, regulate, and evolve.

She works with adults of all genders and backgrounds who are navigating trauma healing, personal growth, and spiritual awakening. Colleen especially enjoys supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, healers in need of healing, meditation practitioners at all levels, frontline professionals, and groups seeking mindfulness-based, trauma-informed training for leadership and wellbeing. She is continually inspired by the body’s creative intelligence and the lasting transformation that unfolds long after each session ends.

Colleen’s approach is informed by over two decades of contemplative study and professional practice, as well as by mentors and peers across somatic and mindfulness disciplines. Her training includes Unified Mindfulness, the NeuroAffective Touch Institute, the NARM Training Institute, and lineages of craniosacral therapy, yoga, bodywork, energy medicine, and nondual awareness.

Her work is also shaped by lived experience supporting adults in community mental and behavioral health settings, where she facilitated trauma-informed and recreational therapy groups for more than a decade. She brings a compassionate, experiential understanding of how deep healing becomes possible when the body feels safe enough to open—and when the self is met with curiosity and care.

Colleen holds a Master of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University and is a Certified Massage Therapist. She has completed over 1,000 hours of advanced training in somatic therapies and more than 400 hours of specialized certification in IFS and parts work coaching, NARM, BodyMind Coaching, and Unified Mindfulness. She teaches online with Unified Mindfulness and continues to study consciousness and embodiment with living teachers across multiple contemplative lineages.

Soma & Self Method for Embodied Integration and Awakening

A trauma-informed pathway from survival and attachment wounding into embodied presence, connection, and awakened heart leadership.
This map blends somatic therapy, attachment science, Internal Family Systems, Unified Mindfulness, and contemporary nondual wisdom into a single, body-first framework. Wherever you find yourself on this map, you belong.

Five Levels of Embodied Consciousness

Level Identity Experience Somatic Qualities Awareness Capacities What Begins to Awaken
Level I. Survival Awareness Protective, survival-focused; shaped by early attachment patterns. Bracing, shutdown; swings between activation and collapse. Basic noticing, coping, orienting to safety. Stabilization; first felt sense of safety and support.
Level II. Parts Awareness Inner protectors, critics, and younger parts recognized. More sensation/emotion awareness; more space around triggers. Mindful witnessing of parts instead of fusion. Insight, emotional literacy, compassion for adaptations.
Level III. Self Presence Self-energy / Essence begins to lead. Grounded, regulated, coherent body–mind. Clear interoception; capacity to respond instead of react. Agency, self-trust, living more often from center.
Level IV. Interbeing Awareness Sense of self includes others, nature, spirit. Spaciousness, soft openness, attunement. Interbeing awareness; presence with others. Belonging, mutuality, impulse to participate in healing.
Level V. Heart-Mind Leadership Loving Presence guides choices and relationships. Ease, creativity, subtle joy; resilient nervous system. Awake loving flow through daily life. Purposeful, heart-led contribution without self-abandonment.

Wherever you are on the map, you belong.

You don’t have to choose between healing your nervous system and waking up spiritually. The Soma & Self Method meets you where you are and invites the next natural step toward wholeness.
